Deliver SHiNE project activities, bringing analysis, reporting and outputs together to support safer nutrition education in schools.
The Opportunity
The School of Medicine is seeking a Research Fellow to support the delivery of the SHiNE research project as it progresses through its final phase. You will coordinate project activities, consolidate findings and contribute to analysis, reporting and research outputs that support safer food and nutrition education in schools.
SHiNE: Supporting Healthful Initiatives in Nutrition Education is a collaborative research program focused on improving how food and nutrition are communicated to children and young people in schools. You will contribute to work that helps schools promote student wellbeing while reducing the risk of unintended harm, including disordered eating.
You will undertake independent and collaborative research, coordinate project timelines and milestones, and support data management, documentation, stakeholder communication and reporting. You will also disseminate findings through publications, reports, presentations and other relevant forums while maintaining high standards of research integrity, ethics, safety and confidentiality.
What Success Looks Like:
- Deliver rigorous research activities in accordance with project timelines, ethics and governance requirements.
- Consolidate and communicate research findings through high-quality publications, reports, presentations and stakeholder materials.
- Coordinate project milestones, documentation, data management and stakeholder communication effectively.
- Contribute to research proposals, ethics applications, funding submissions and partnership activities.
- Build productive relationships with schools, research partners, project participants and University colleagues.

About You
You're a collaborative researcher looking to make a meaningful impact in health, wellbeing or education. To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A relevant PhD in Allied Health, Psychology, Education or a related discipline.
- Research experience in areas such as nutrition, public health, mental health or school education, supported by relevant publications, reports or other research outputs.
- Sound knowledge of research design, methodologies and data analysis relevant to your area of expertise.
- The ability to undertake both independent and collaborative research, including contributing to research proposals, ethics applications and funding submissions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build productive stakeholder relationships while maintaining high standards of research integrity, confidentiality and compliance.
Working with Children Check:
It is a mandatory requirement for any incumbent of this position to have a current NSW Employee Working with Children Clearance in accordance with the NSW Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
