Senior Business Analyst

• Full-time, 12 month fixed term position at HEW 8 level
• Parramatta South campus with flexible working arrangements.
• Salary: $120,754 – $134,051 plus 17% Super & Leave Loading.

Lead complex business analysis that turns organisational needs into practical, strategically aligned solutions.
 

The Opportunity
You will support the delivery of strategic operational initiatives by analysing current and future business needs across processes, systems, structures, data and reporting. You will identify opportunities to optimise processes and ensure proposed solutions align with the University’s strategic objectives.

You will lead workshops, interviews and stakeholder engagement activities to gather, document and validate complex requirements. You will assess interdependencies and change impacts, prepare feasibility assessments and use cases, and develop business cases that clearly articulate objectives, benefits, costs and risks.

You will contribute to testing, validation and implementation activities to ensure solutions meet business needs and deliver their intended benefits. You will also provide task allocation, mentoring and quality oversight to Business Analysts, supporting consistent and high-quality analysis across projects and portfolios.

• Complex current and future state requirements are clearly documented across processes, systems, structures, data and reporting.
• Stakeholders share a clear understanding of business requirements, dependencies and change impacts.
• Business cases and feasibility assessments enable informed, evidence-based decision-making.
• Solutions are effectively tested, validated and transitioned into operation.
• Business Analysts receive effective mentoring, direction and quality oversight.

About You

• A degree in Business, Information Technology or a related field, combined with extensive business analysis and improvement experience in complex environments.
• Demonstrated ability to assess and document current and future state processes, systems, data, structures and reporting.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in SQL, Excel and ServiceNow PPM or an equivalent tool.
• High-level communication, consultation, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Experience supervising staff, managing workloads and mentoring analysts to deliver consistent, high-quality outputs.
