  • Salary: $118,969 – $132,069 plus 17% Super & Leave Loading.


Coordinate digital manufacturing systems that support FoF projects, partners and advanced manufacturing capability.

The Opportunity
You will play a key technical and coordination role supporting Western Sydney University’s Factory of the Future and its industry partners. You will coordinate digital manufacturing projects that support industry collaboration, applied research, training delivery and technology demonstration.

 

You will operate, maintain and continuously improve systems and equipment across digital twins, simulation platforms, additive manufacturing, automation, sensing and data-driven manufacturing tools. You will also provide clear technical advice to the Manager, Factory of the Future and senior stakeholders on system capability, technology roadmaps and investment priorities.

 

You will contribute to industry engagement by supporting project scoping, trials, demonstrations and solution development for external partners. You will help ensure safe and compliant use of digital manufacturing environments while supporting workforce development through workshops, short courses and micro-credential activity aligned to Industry 4.0 and 5.0 capability.

 

What Success Looks Like:

  • Coordinate digital manufacturing projects that support industry collaboration, applied research, training delivery and technology demonstration.
  • Maintain reliable, safe and compliant digital manufacturing systems and equipment.
  • Provide practical technical advice on digital manufacturing capability, investment priorities and technology roadmaps.
  • Support industry partners through project scoping, trials, demonstrations and solution development.
  • Contribute to workshops, short courses and micro-credentials aligned to Industry 4.0 and 5.0 capability.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Computer Science, Industrial Technology or a closely related discipline, or equivalent experience and training.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting digital manufacturing, smart factory or advanced manufacturing systems in an industrial, research or applied innovation environment.
  • Proven capability operating and maintaining digital manufacturing technologies such as simulation tools, digital twins, automation systems, additive manufacturing, industrial software platforms or data-driven production systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions for industry and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear advice to senior staff and external partners.
