  • Parramatta and Richmond campus with flexible working arrangements.
  • Salary: $107,053 – $115,469 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

 

Lead financial insight and cost optimisation for cloud and digital services across a complex university portfolio.

The Opportunity

You will provide high-level financial analysis, forecasting and reporting to support effective decision-making across the Office of the Chief Digital and Information Officer. Working closely with senior leaders, you will ensure financial integrity, compliance and value for money across digital services and infrastructure investments.

You will play a key role in embedding FinOps practices, improving transparency of cloud and technology costs, and bridging Finance, Technology and Business. This includes developing dashboards, analysing expenditure trends, and supporting budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning activities aligned to institutional frameworks.

You will advise executives on financial performance, risk and opportunities, contribute to governance and audit requirements, and work collaboratively with engineering, operations and architecture teams to embed cost optimisation into service design and delivery.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Cloud and infrastructure costs are accurately monitored, reported and clearly understood.
  • Technology costs are tagged and allocated to support transparency and accountability.
  • Cost-saving opportunities are identified and implemented in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Financial dashboards and self-service tools enable informed decision-making.
  • Budgeting, forecasting and financial governance processes are accurate and compliant.

About You

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in financial analysis, modelling and reporting in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technology usage data into meaningful financial insights.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and enterprise financial systems, with strong organisational skills.
  • High-level communication skills and experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
