  • Parramatta campus with flexible working arrangements.
  • Salary: $147,138 – $169,011 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

Lead impactful teaching and research that advances Art Therapy and supports student success.

The Opportunity

Western Sydney University is a premier national and international destination for postgraduate clinical training and research studies in the fields of counselling, psychotherapy and creative arts therapies. Our experienced educators and emerging researchers have developed innovative training programs including a highly successful person-centred counselling program and an award-winning arts-led pedagogy for training art therapists and arts-in-health practitioners. We have written key texts that influence research, clinical education and professional practice, heightening discipline visibility for Arts Therapy and Counselling (ATC) within and beyond the University.

About You

  • A PhD in a nominated discipline.
  • Demonstrated track record, relative to opportunity, of research with outcomes of high quality and high impact .
  • Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Experience of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with the profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives.
