Deliver integrated teaching, research and clinical care in gastroenterology and hepatology.

The Opportunity
Western Sydney University is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Medicine (Gastroenterology and Hepatology) to contribute to teaching, research and academic service at the School of Medicine's Blacktown Clinical School on a full-time basis. We are open to considering part time appointments for suitably qualified candidates.

You will design and deliver high-quality learning experiences across undergraduate and postgraduate medicine programs, including assessment, feedback and curriculum development. You will support student progression and employability outcomes, and contribute to academic quality assurance and course administration as required.

In addition to your academic responsibilities, you will contribute to the delivery of healthcare at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospital. This includes clinical and administrative responsibilities within the Department of Medicine, as directed by the Professor of Medicine. You will work closely with clinical and academic colleagues to support integrated teaching, research and clinical practice, and contribute to the discipline of medicine locally and internationally..

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across medicine programs.
  • Contribute to curriculum development in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
  • Support student learning, progression and employability outcomes.
  • Engage in research and scholarly activity aligned to the discipline.
  • Contribute to clinical service and departmental responsibilities at partner hospitals.

About You

  • You will demonstrate advanced academic expertise in a relevant discipline and a strong commitment to medical education, holding or currently undertaking a PhD.
  • You have current registration, or are eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Your background includes specialist training and consultant-level experience in Gastroenterology and/or Hepatology.
  • You must be eligible to hold a clinical appointment at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospital.
  • You will bring demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
