  • Salary: $179,822 – $197,660 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

Provide academic leadership in paediatrics while shaping education and research in child health.

The Opportunity
Western Sydney University is seeking an Associate Professor in Paediatrics and Child Health to provide academic leadership within the Faculty of Health, School of Medicine. This role plays a key part in advancing teaching excellence, research performance and engagement aligned to child and adolescent health.

The Associate Professor will design, develop and deliver contemporary undergraduate and postgraduate learning, contributing to high-quality curriculum, assessment and student experience. The role requires a reflective teaching practice and active contribution to peer review and educational innovation.

The position also provides leadership in research through supervision of higher degree research students, development of research teams and networks, and engagement with industry, government and professional bodies. The role is based in Blacktown and supports interdisciplinary collaboration across the University.

  • Deliver high-quality blended teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • Maintain a strong national and international research profile in paediatrics.
  • Supervise and mentor postgraduate research students and early career academics.
  • Provide academic leadership and contribute to Faculty and University service.
  • Build productive partnerships with industry, health services and the community.

About You

  • Unconditional registration as a Medical Practitioner in New South Wales.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Paediatrics and Child Health.
  • PhD in a related discipline and/or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in teaching, research and supervision.
  • Strong collaboration, engagement and industry relationship capabilities.
