The Opportunity
Are you an experienced educator and subject matter expert passionate about shaping high‑quality teaching and learning experiences? We are seeking a Subject Coordinator, Education Studies to provide subject‑level leadership across the College’s Diploma in Education Studies (Primary and/or Secondary).

Working under the guidance of the Program Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality teaching, coordinating subject delivery across multiple units, and driving continuous improvement in curriculum and assessment. You will support both students and teaching staff, contribute to curriculum development, and ensure subject delivery aligns with academic standards and governance requirements.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing subject‑level leadership and teaching expertise across Education Studies subjects, coordinating delivery across multiple offerings.
  • Leading curriculum development, review, and improvement in partnership with the Program Coordinator and Product Directorate.
  • Coordinating subject operations, including timetabling requirements, teacher allocation, marking, moderation, and results processing (REPS).
  • Supporting the Program Coordinator in upholding teaching standards, assessment integrity, and quality assurance processes.
  • Overseeing subject evaluation reviews and implementing improvements in collaboration with academic and product stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with Academic Learning Advisors and Associate Directors to support student progression, extensions, and academic success.
  • Building strong, collegial relationships with teaching staff while supporting a diverse student cohort.

Location
This is a full-time ongoing, based at Parramatta City campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required. This position is not available in a fully remote format.

 

Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a committed and capable educator who brings strong discipline knowledge, coordination skills, and a student‑centred approach to learning and teaching.

You will bring:

  • An undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in Education Studies, Primary Teaching, or Secondary Teaching, supported by demonstrated professional teaching experience in either Primary or Secondary education settings.
  • Proven experience in curriculum review and improvement, assessment design, and subject‑level delivery within an educational institution.
  • Experience teaching students from diverse linguistic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet learning outcomes within allocated timeframes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster collegial relationships and empathise with students.

 

Working with Children Check
As this position is expected to involve direct or unsupervised contact with children, and in accordance with legislative requirements, it is a mandatory requirement to obtain and maintain a “NSW Working with Children Check Clearance”. 

 

Remuneration Package: Academic Pathway Programs, Subject Coordinator $148,564 p.a. (comprising Salary of $130,690 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
