Drive operational excellence and support the Faculty following the recent consolidation of the five Schools of Social Sciences, Arts, Business, Education and Law (SABEL) at Western Sydney University

The Opportunity
As a Business Operations Coordinator within SABEL, you will play a pivotal role in enabling smooth, efficient operations that underpin the delivery of high-quality services. This role sits at the centre of the faculty’s new operating model and is critical to supporting its strategic objectives and day-to-day priorities.

The faculty has recently transitioned to a new structure, bringing together five Schools into one integrated Faculty. This is a period of significant change, and we are seeking someone who can confidently manage core business processes while also contributing to the transformation of how the Faculty works.

You will coordinate day-to-day administrative and business operations, in support of Policy compliance and procurement activities, and help streamline systems and workflows. Working closely with academic and professional staff, you will ensure processes are efficient, accurate and responsive to Faculty needs.

This role offers a genuine opportunity to contribute to initiatives that enhance the experience of students and staff, while supporting projects aligned with the University’s broader vision for excellence in Faculty operations and services.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Deliver timely and accurate coordination of operational processes across the Faculty.
  • Provide proactive support and advice on Policy compliance, procurement, and reporting requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support and contribute to change initiatives as the faculty transitions to new ways of working following the consolidation.

Please refer to the Position Description for full details.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in business operations or administrative coordination within a complex organisation.
  • Comfortable working in a changing environment, with the ability to adapt processes, support new ways of working, and contribute constructively to continuous improvement during periods of transition.
  • University experience is strongly desired, with familiarity and experience working within a matrix structure.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a commitment to collaborative working.
