  • Blacktown Clinical School campus with flexible working arrangements.
  • Salary: $150,081- $172,392 per annum, plus 17% Super pro-rata

Deliver clinical teaching and research in oncology while shaping future health professionals.

The Opportunity

You will contribute to teaching, research, and academic service, with a strong commitment to excellence in Oncology education, clinical training, and research translation. You will play a key role in the education of future medical practitioners, contributing to high-quality learning experiences across undergraduate and postgraduate medical programs.

You will design, deliver, and evaluate innovative teaching and assessment aligned with contemporary medical education practice, support student progression and employability, and contribute to curriculum development and academic quality assurance.

In addition to academic responsibilities, the appointee will contribute to the delivery of clinical oncology services at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospital, including clinical and administrative duties within the Department of Medicine, as directed by the Professor of Medicine. The role supports strong integration of clinical practice, teaching, and research, with opportunities to contribute locally, nationally, and internationally within the discipline of Oncology.

What Success Looks Like

  • Delivering high-quality teaching and assessment across undergraduate and postgraduate medicine programs
  • Contributing to curriculum development in Oncology / Medical Oncology
  • Supporting student learning, progression, and employability outcomes
  • Maintaining an active research and scholarly profile aligned with Oncology, including collaborative and translational research
  • Contributing effectively to clinical service delivery and departmental responsibilities at partner hospitals
  • Engaging in academic governance, service, and professional leadership within the School of Medicine

About You

You will demonstrate:

  • Advanced academic expertise in a relevant discipline, with a strong commitment to medical education and clinical teaching (a PhD is highly regarded)
  • Current or eligible registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Specialist training and consultant-level experience in Oncology (Medical Oncology or a closely related subspecialty)
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and curriculum design
