  • $137,681 – $147,032 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

The Opportunity
You will lead the design and governance of secure, scalable and resilient cyber solution architecture that underpins the University’s digital platforms and services. The role provides authoritative guidance on cyber solution design, aligns solutions to enterprise architecture strategy, and ensures compliance with relevant cybersecurity frameworks and obligations.

 

You will embed secure-by-design principles across technology domains, working closely with enterprise architects, delivery teams and senior stakeholders. Your work will influence solution roadmaps, architecture standards, reference architectures and Architecture Decision Records, balancing security, usability, performance and risk.

 

You will also evaluate emerging technologies and evolving threat landscapes to inform architectural decisions and risk mitigation strategies. Through strong documentation, assurance activities and governance participation, you will uplift cyber maturity, support operational continuity and strengthen digital trust across the institution.

  • Cybersecurity controls are integrated effectively across platforms, applications and cloud environments.
  • Architecture standards and patterns reflect best practice and are consistently adopted.
  • Senior stakeholders receive clear advice on architectural risks, trade-offs and mitigations.
  • Security design assurance supports compliant, resilient solution delivery.

About You

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing cyber architecture in complex digital environments.
  • Deep knowledge of security frameworks, cloud security and enterprise architecture methodologies.
  • Proven ability to influence architectural decisions and communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience integrating cyber controls across multi-cloud or hybrid environments, including DevSecOps practices.
