The Opportunity
The Western Sydney University Library is the student-centred heart of the University, supporting learning, teaching and research across a diverse and growing community. With seven campus libraries and a strong digital presence, the Library provides inclusive, technology-enabled services that empower student success.

The Library is seeking a mathematics, statistics and numeracy education expert to join the Mathematics Education Support Hub (MESH) team on a part-time basis. Based primarily at the Parramatta South campus, this role delivers targeted maths and statistics support to students through workshops, training sessions, individual consultations and tailored learning resources.

In this role, you will work directly with students to assess individual learning needs and develop effective approaches to support their academic progress. You will also collaborate closely with academic staff to provide discipline-informed support and contribute to the continuous improvement of mathematics support services using student feedback and performance data.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Delivering one-on-one and group mathematics and statistics support to students.
  • Assessing student needs and developing targeted support approaches.
  • Designing and delivering academic maths, stats and numeracy workshops.
  • Developing and maintaining mathematics support resources and materials.
  • Collaborating with academics to enhance student learning outcomes.

About You

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering maths, stats or numeracy workshops.
  • Evidence of supporting mathematics and statistics subjects across study levels.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with academic staff.
  • Familiarity with effective teaching strategies for diverse student cohorts.
