The Opportunity
The Library Content and Procurement Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring Western Sydney University students and researchers have access to the scholarly resources they need to succeed. You will coordinate the acquisition, renewal and licensing of content, helping to build collections that support the University’s teaching, learning and research priorities.
The Library Content and Procurement Coordinator will manage relationships with publishers, vendors and consortia partners, negotiate licensing agreements and monitor resource expenditure. Working collaboratively across the Library and University, the Library Content and Procurement Coordinator will use analytics, stakeholder feedback and evidence to support collection, renewal and resource allocation decisions.
The role will also contribute to improving acquisitions and electronic resource management workflows, exploring emerging technologies and enhancing how library content is selected, managed and accessed. The Library Content and Procurement Coordinator will represent the Library in professional networks and contribute to the future direction of scholarly content and access in a changing information environment.
What Success Looks Like:
Success in this role will be demonstrated through sustainable agreements, informed collection decisions and reliable access to scholarly resources. Key outcomes will include:
- Coordinating the acquisition, renewal and licensing of scholarly resources that support teaching, learning and research.
- Building productive relationships with publishers, vendors and consortia partners to secure value-focused agreements.
- Using analytics, expenditure data and stakeholder feedback to inform collection decisions and recommendations.
- Monitoring resource expenditure and supporting the effective allocation of collection budgets.
- Improving systems, workflows and technology-enabled practices for managing and accessing library content.

About You
The successful candidate will bring relevant library collections experience, strong analytical capability and a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement. They will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in library and information services or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Extensive experience in scholarly content procurement, licensing, electronic resource management or related collection services.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to use data, evidence and stakeholder feedback to inform decisions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills across internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to improve library systems, procurement workflows and collection management practices while managing competing priorities.
