  • Hawkesbury campus with flexible working arrangements 

  •  $118,969 – $132,069 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

The Opportunity 

Western Sydney University is strengthening its cyber defence capability through advanced threat intelligence. This role provides expert analysis and operational insight to identify, assess and mitigate emerging cyber threats across a complex digital environment. 

As a senior specialist, you will embed threat intelligence into security operations, ensuring intelligence outputs directly inform detection, response, governance and risk decisions. Your work will support proactive security posture improvement and alignment with institutional risk and compliance obligations. 

You will also act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and represent the University in national and sector intelligence forums, contributing to shared intelligence uplift and collective cyber resilience. 

What Success Looks Like: 

  • Delivering advanced cyber threat intelligence that informs defensive strategies. 
  • Maintaining high-quality intelligence feeds and indicators of compromise. 
  • Integrating intelligence into security operations for proactive detection and response. 
  • Providing contextual intelligence during cyber incident investigations. 

Producing clear intelligence briefings for technical and executive audiences.

About You 

  • Demonstrated experience in cyber threat intelligence analysis and reporting. 
  • Strong understanding of adversary tactics, techniques and frameworks. 
  • Experience integrating intelligence into operational security environments. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex insights. 
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external intelligence stakeholders.
