  • Parramatta City Campus with flexible working arrangements.
  • Salary: $107,053 – $115,469 plus 17% Super & Leave Loading.


Support delivery of strategic projects through governance, reporting, risk tracking and stakeholder coordination.

The Opportunity
The Project Officer, AI Transformation plays a key operational role in supporting the University’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) transformation agenda. Working under the guidance and strategic direction of the Senior Manager, AI Transformation, the position contributes to the ongoing development, adoption and promotion of the AI Transformation agenda, including supporting management of key technology partner relationships. 

The role provides hands-on support in requirements gathering, user engagement, testing, drafting communications, preparing materials, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring solutions are ethical, secure, and integrated effectively within the University’s broader technology ecosystem. 

The position is instrumental in ensuring AI Transformation initiatives according to the universities AI Transformation Roadmap are developed in a timely manner, and accessible to students, academics, researchers, and professional staff. 

What Success Looks Like:

  • Project activities are coordinated effectively and delivered on time, within scope and aligned to quality expectations.
  • Project documentation, registers, schedules and impact assessments are accurate, current and aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
  • Stakeholders receive clear updates on project status, risks, issues and outcomes to support informed decision-making.
  • Project risks, issues, dependencies, budgets and resources are monitored, recorded and escalated where required.
  • Meetings and workshops are well organised, collaborative and focused on resolving issues and progressing delivery.

About You

  • Relevant degree in IT, Information Systems, Communications, Business, or a related field, and/or equivalent professional training and experience in a large and complex organisation. 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting digital, data, automation, or AI‑related projects in a complex environment. 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outputs within deadlines. 
  • High-level analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate user needs into clear documentation or technical requirements. 
  • Understanding of responsible AI, cybersecurity, data governance, and privacy considerations. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing user focused resources, training content, or guidance materials. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and engage effectively with staff at all levels.
