  • Salary: $150,081 – $172,392 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.


Teach, research and lead in digital literacies across teacher education programs.

The Opportunity
You will make a significant and sustained contribution to teaching, research and other scholarly activities related to Digital Literacies within the School of Education. The role focuses on subjects related to digital literacies and technology-mediated learning across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. You will help shape how future educators build digital capability in school settings and support strong educational outcomes through contemporary curriculum design and delivery.

You will coordinate and teach digital technologies subjects and deliver high-quality learning experiences across face-to-face, online and intensive modes. You will design, develop and assess subjects in line with internal quality standards and external accreditation requirements, provide clear and timely feedback to students, and maintain accurate records of student assessment and results. The role also includes subject coordination duties, support for casual teaching staff where required, and participation in student engagement and outreach activities.

Beyond teaching, you will contribute to research projects and supervise higher degree research candidates. You will work with colleagues across the School, Faculty and University to develop courses, support strategic planning, and build productive relationships with schools, professional partners and community stakeholders. You will also contribute to professional experience activity, Teacher Performance Assessment-related work, and the broader academic life of the University.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Deliver coordinated and high-quality Digital Literacies teaching across initial and post-initial teacher education programs.
  • Design, develop and assess subjects that meet internal quality assurance and external accreditation requirements.
  • Provide effective learning experiences across face-to-face, online and intensive delivery modes, with clear feedback to students.
  • Contribute to research activity through project participation, publication outcomes and supervision of higher degree research candidates.
  • Build productive relationships with schools, community partners and internal stakeholders to support course quality and professional experience activity.

About You

  • PhD or EdD in Education or a closely related discipline.
  • Extensive tertiary teaching experience in Education, including curriculum design, delivery, assessment and the use of e-learning methods.
  • Extensive experience developing Digital Literacies curriculum in Primary and/or Secondary education settings, with relevance to educator and leader development.
  • Demonstrated track record in progressing research initiatives through to publication, with high-quality relevant outputs.
  • Strong experience supervising Honours and higher degree research students, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
