  • Salary: $118,969 – $132,069 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.


Lead complex payroll remediation and analytics to support compliance and assurance.

The Opportunity
The Senior Remediation & Payroll Data Analyst plays a key role within the Pay Confidence Program, supporting the University to strengthen payroll accuracy, compliance and assurance through high quality data modelling and analytics.

In this role, you will lead complex payroll remediation calculations, develop user-focused data models, and deliver insights that support critical business decisions. You will work with large and often incomplete data sets, ensuring outputs are accurate, traceable and legally defensible.

Working closely with HR Operations, IT, Finance, Risk and Assurance and other stakeholders, you will help improve payroll controls, respond to audit findings, and embed sustainable processes that support both remediation activities and ongoing payroll operations.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Leading payroll remediation calculations across multiple rules and entities.
  • Developing clear, user-friendly payroll data models and analytics.
  • Delivering insights that support senior leaders and program decision-making.
  • Improving payroll controls and compliance with legislation and instruments.
  • Producing accurate, auditable reports with strong data integrity.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in payroll assurance and compliance activities.
  • Strong capability in data modelling and analytics using Oracle SQL or Microsoft tools.
  • Proven ability to identify anomalies and patterns in complex payroll data.
  • Experience with payroll systems, preferably AscenderPay.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse stakeholder groups.
