Provide expert assistive technology advice and training to improve access for students and staff with disability.

The Opportunity
You will provide expert advice, training, and coordinated support to ensure university-approved assistive technologies meet the identified requirements of students and staff with disability. Working closely with Disability Services and Information Technology and Digital Services, you will translate access needs into practical technology solutions that support study and work outcomes.

You will develop training modules and self-help resources for approved software, and deliver consultations, training and coaching to students and staff on the effective use of assistive technology. You will respond to requests to install and configure software for students or staff with disability, assess suitability of tools in consultation with Disability Advisors, and coordinate specialist assistance, equipment and technology through internal and external providers when required.

You will manage assistive technology assets, software licences and related records, evaluate the impact and effectiveness of technologies in use, and contribute to continuous improvement through reporting and stakeholder collaboration. In partnership with Disability Services, you will also oversee student access rooms in the Library, ensuring they provide safe, supportive study environments that meet diverse learning needs and support equitable access.

  • Students and staff receive timely, practical advice and training on assistive technologies.
  • Assistive technology installations, assets and software licences are accurately managed.
  • Assistive technology effectiveness is evaluated and informs service improvement.
  • Student access rooms are maintained as safe, supportive spaces that meet diverse needs.
